Global Distribution Sales

A 17 year Cisco veteran, Julie Hens is responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, operations and logistics in her current role as Vice President of Global Distribution Sales. The Global Distribution organization is one of the fastest growing segments of Cisco’s business representing over $16B in revenue.

In her current role, Hens has grown the two-tier business by double digits over the past two years and established a new transformational strategy to capture new market transitions around cloud, software and IoT.

Formally the Vice President of Americas Distribution, Hens instituted a new distribution landscape focused on optimizing access to new markets and revenue streams.

Hens is the Executive Sponsor of the Global Distribution Business Forums. These Forums are designed to identify new growth and partnership opportunities with Cisco and our Distributors, leverage best practices across our APJC, Americas and EMEA regions and accelerate and improve operational excellence and sales processes to drive growth.

Hens began her Cisco career in the Service Provider Sales Organization as Regional Manager and later as Operations Director, leading network Service Provider teams for the western region. Before joining Cisco, Hens was the Area Vice President and General Manager for ENTEX Information Services, a $2.5 billion desktop and network systems integrator.

Hens has received several industry awards throughout her career. In 2015, Hens was named one of the “CRN Channel Chiefs”. Additionally, in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013 and again in 2014, she was recognized as one of CRN’s “Most Powerful Women of the Channel.” She also had the honorable distinction of being named a “Power 100 Women of the Channel” for 2011 and 2013.

Hens is passionate about leadership and provides mentorship through Cisco’s Executive Shadow program. She is also a member of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives and Advancing Women Executives, LLC.

Hens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. She lives in Northern California with her husband and daughter.
